What’s the difference between freeze-dried dog food and kibble?
Freeze-dried dog food starts with 100% raw meat that’s frozen at very low temperatures and vacuum-dried to remove moisture while preserving nutrients, enzymes, and flavor.
Freeze-dried food:
✅ Retains most nutrients and natural flavor
✅ Has no preservatives or fillers
✅ Offers a natural texture similar to raw
✅ Can be served dry or rehydrated
See the full breakdown on our Freeze-Dried vs. Kibble page.
How do I serve freeze-dried dog food?
Simply rehydrate with water or goat’s milk before feeding. You can serve it as a full meal, a topper, or a treat. It’s lightweight, shelf-stable, and perfect for travel or easy cleanup.
When converting raw to freeze-dried portions, use this ratio:
👉 Raw amount ÷ 4 = Freeze-Dry amount
You can also use our feeding chart on the Feeding Guide page to find the right serving for your dog’s age and weight.
Is freeze-dried food as nutritious as raw dog food?
Yes! Freeze-drying locks in nearly all the nutrients, natural enzymes, and flavor found in raw meat. It’s an excellent option if you want the benefits of raw feeding with the convenience of shelf-stable storage and easier cleanup.
