Midwest Legacy Beef started small back in 1995, and it kept growing, mostly because dogs did well on it and their people told their friends. All these years and 20,000-plus homes later, we're still at it, and the number at the bottom of this page rings to me directly, not a call center. If you want to know what's in a blend, or how to get your dog started on raw, just ask. We'll walk you through it.

How much does your dog need?

Most dogs eat 2 to 4% of their body weight a day. Set your dog's weight and activity, and we'll turn it into a daily amount and a blend to match.

Puppies, seniors, and dogs with health conditions may need a different amount. Check with your vet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is raw safe to handle at home?

Treat it like the beef you cook for yourself. Keep sleeves frozen until you need them, thaw in the fridge rather than on the counter, and wash bowls and hands after serving.

How much will my dog actually eat?

Most adult dogs eat 2 to 4% of their body weight a day, split across two meals. Puppies under twelve months eat 5 to 10% across three or four meals. The calculator turns that into ounces and sleeves for your dog's weight.

How do I switch a dog off kibble?

Go slowly over 7 to 10 days. Start with 25% raw and 75% of the old food, then increase the raw portion gradually as your dog adjusts.

How much freeze-dried equals a raw meal?

Divide the raw portion by four to get the freeze-dried amount, measured before adding water. Rehydrate with two to three times warm water before serving.

What if the box arrives partly thawed?

If it is still cold to the touch, it is safe to put straight in the freezer. Orders leave on Mondays in a 1.5-inch insulated cooler so nothing sits in transit over a weekend.

Can I skip a week?

Yes. Everything is managed from your account, so you can skip a delivery or change the size of your order there. Cancellations are handled the same way.

Where do you ship?

All 48 contiguous states, every Monday, by UPS and FedEx. Local customers can also pick up from one of our co-op points across the Midwest.
